AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

R.O.C.K.

We are

Reaching Out for Christ’s Kingdom

The Monticello United Methodist Church after-school program for students ages 3 through 5th grade!  Every Wednesday, from 3:30 – 5:15 p.m. children will be welcomed at our church for healthy snacks, fun crafts, cool lessons, Christian centered activities, children and youth choirs, and youth hand bells.  The R.O.C.K. will be an after school ministry that replaces the Wednesday evening “Forever Friends” or “ASK” programs.  Call the church office to register and complete a permission/health form or to lend a hand and volunteer!  For more information call Shelly Forrest or Kathy Brown at 762-2579.  Join us at the R.O.C.K. !

THE LOFT

“The LOFT” (Living Our Faith Today) is what we’re calling the Steppe Inn upstairs youth rooms.

“The LOFT” is open on Fridays after school from 3:15-5:00 p.m. (when school is in session) to give upper elementary and high school youth a supervised place to hang out and unwind after a busy week at school. Free snacks provided!

It is a means of creating positive, healthy relationships, and a bridge into the life of the church. Please encourage your youth to attend and to invite friends.

L.O.F.T. Open for Early Out Days in November—The LOFT will be open on Wednesday, November 5th from 11:30-2:00.  It will also be open on Tuesday, November 25 from 2:30-5:00 p.m..

FORMAT FOR YOUTH GROUP

MYF—Monticello Youth Fellowship Middle School youth will include 6th through 8th graders, and the Senior High group will continue to be grades 9-12. Both groups will continue to include the Presbyterians.

The youth will meet in homes whenever possible, and occasionally meet at the Steppe Inn (the LOFT) if a home is not available. Middle School Youth will meet from 4:30-5:30, and Senior High Youth will meet from 6:00-7:00 each week. Programming will be much more relational with a devotional time at the end of each gathering.

This change is partially in response to the many busy families for whom Sunday evening is their only time to have a family meal together. Middle Schoolers will be done by 5:30, so they can then go home and eat with their families. High Schoolers may eat with their families and then come together. However, a snack WILL be included in our time together.

Please e-mail Pastor Shelly

(sforrest@monticelloumc.com) with both parent and youth e-mail addresses so that you may receive weekly updates and reminders of current events!

Youth enjoy meeting in people’s homes…

To schedule your home, please contact Pastor Shelly!  Remember, it’s only an hour.  All you provide is a beverage, and a space, either inside or outside.  Our most effective youth nights are in homes!
